Meghan Markle celebrates Prince Archie’s 6th birthday with rare new photo

Meghan Markle has celebrated Prince Archie’s sixth birthday by sharing a rare new photo of her son, an unexpected treat for fans who seldom get to see the Sussex children.

In the photo, Archie is seen from behind, standing on a balcony and looking at the sunset. The sun lines up with his head, creating a soft glow around him.

“Our son. Our sun,” Meghan wrote alongside the image.

“Happy 6th birthday to Archie!

“Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He’s six! Where did the time go?

“(And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special ❤️).”

The new birthday photo comes after Meghan recently shared a series of images of her children enjoying a day in a blooming rose garden.

While royal watchers may have hoped for a clear look at Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Meghan remained consistent with her approach of protecting their privacy, carefully keeping their faces out of frame.

In one particularly charming shot, a smiling Meghan holds a large pink flower as Lilibet stands beside her.

Another image shows Archie as he curiously examines a bed of pink roses, while a second picture features him playfully holding a flower in front of his face.

“Sunday kind of love….with my little loves,” she wrote alongside the images.

Although Meghan has recently offered more glimpses of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet remain largely shielded from the public eye, with fans only catching the occasional rare sighting of the young royals.

Even in these rare glimpses, the public has yet to see their faces, a decision that The Sun‘s Royal Editor, Matt Wilkinson, believes stems from Prince Harry’s own difficult experiences with the media during his childhood.

“My understanding of this or up to a certain stage is that Harry would much rather his children were not seen. He doesn’t want them to be papped,” he explained during an appearance on Hello Magazine’s A Right Royal Podcast,

“He’s got this idea that if he takes them outside of Montecito that there’s a horde of us out there trying to take pictures of his kids – they’re not by the way.”

While Harry may want to shield his children from the spotlight, Meghan’s approach is much different with Wilkinson explaining that “she wants her children to have a more kind of California style lifestyle you know take him down the beach, go out, do stuff.”

“She doesn’t want to hide them away and we’ve seen this haven’t we more and more with the use of of Lilibet and Archie,” he added.
